Mumbai, January 02: Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Prakash Wani today vehemently denied reports of him allegedly partying with Chhota Rajan gang members at a private club in suburban Chembur here.
“The clips and photographs published in the media is doctored and it seems to be a conspiracy against me,” Wani told PTI.
Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil yesterday directed an inquiry into the photographs of senior police officials purportedly attending a Christmas party thrown on Christmas eve by gangsters and has sought a report.
“It is irresponsible on the part of the media to have published the clips without verifying it,” Wani said.
“The truth will come out after the inquiry has been conducted. My statement would also be recorded,” the senior police official said.
He further claimed that “such allegations” would put a blot on his 33-year service in the police department.
