New Delhi, August 20: Her bikini scene in ‘Help’ did little to see the movie through but actress Mugdha Godse says she is not perturbed by the poor response to the film as she believes in “moving ahead.”
“I felt critics were quite unfair while reviewing the movie. It was dubbed a flop, although I was appreciated for the role I played. But I am not the type to get cowed down by disappointments. Experience has taught me to take things in my stride and to move ahead,” said the 25-year-old -turned-actress.
Mugdha, however, was quick to add that the response to the movie wasn’t wholly negative but “ranged from average to good.”
“I don’t regret being a part of the unit. My role was very challenging as is clearly evident in the movie and every movie I choose to act in only fine tunes my acting,” Mughda told PTI, while in the capital to promote a luxury hair accessories brand.
It has not been a smooth sailing for the actress, who debuted with a critically acclaimed role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’. However, her next release ‘Jail’, also by Bhandarkar, failed to set the box office on fire. Comedy film ‘All The Best’ was a hit but she did not have much to do in the multi-starrer.
The actress, however, has no plans to go back to ling.
“In life we have our ups and downs but that’s what makes us stronger. My stint with ling is over and acting is my penchant now and I firmly believe that if your really passionate about something, disappointments won’t affect you too much,” said the actress.
Although she had evolved a lot from her ling days, Mugdha feels acting is still new to her.
“Even big superstars like Aamir and Shah Rukh say they are still learning although they have been in the industry for years. Compared to them I still an amateur,” quipped Mugda.
Mugdha will be seen alongside Rajeev Khandelwal in her upcoming movie ‘Will you marry me?’ which is a romantic comedy.
“This is the first time I’m doing a romantic comedy and I’m pretty excited about it. The movie is slated for release in December,” she said refusing to divulge further details.
Talking about marriage, when is she planning to jump onto the bandwagon? “I have little time to spend with myself and marriage is the last thing on my mind, let alone dating,” she laughed.
