Muddu seeks dismissal of two ministers

Hyderabad, April 23: The Telugu Desam today demanded dismissal of Vatti Vasantha Kumar and Dharmana Prasada Rao from the ministry for their alleged role in the “misuse’’ of NREGS funds.

Speaking to reporters here today, TDP leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu alleged that the government was violating the NREG Act.

“The material component in some works was 90 per cent as against the stipulated 10 per cent.’’ He wanted the state government to appoint ombudsmen for NREGS works.

On taking action against party leader and editor of a vernacular daily, N Suryaprakasa Rao, on the allegations against him in a section of the media, Naidu said the party did not know what happened. He, however, said that the Politburo would take a decision.

TDP’s Doctors Cell president CL Venkata Rao said the government was not taking proper care in supplying safe drinking water to people.

Citing several reports, he alleged that the drinking water supplied in Hyderabad and elsewhere in the state was substandard.
