NEW DELHI: As PM Modi embarked his second visit to UK, he will be exposed to some unfriendly music on the streets of London on Wednesday.
Enormous protests by various discontented groups and counter protest by Modi fans have been planned and hundreds of people are expected to join the rally from across the UK.
Posters and banners reading “ModiNotWelcome” have come up on streets and public transports expressing public pain, sorrow shock and anger.
One such poster holding the protest described Modi as a “Proud fascist and admirer of (Adolf) Hitler”, “Patron of Lynch Mobs Killing Muslims”, “Protector of Rapists.”
Caste Watch UK and the South Asian Solidarity Group, will hold a rally outside Downing Street.
“On the one hand, Modi talks about bringing people together and of ‘Bharat Ki Baat, Sabke Saath’, but on the other hand his cohorts RSS storm troopers continue to brazenly defy the law unleashing violence on Dalits and religious minorities”, a Caste Watch UK spokesperson said.
The horrific rape and murder of eight-year-old minor from a nomadic community in the Kathua region of Kashmir and rape of 17-year-old in Unnao has triggered nationwide outrage.
The women activists and academics demanding direct answers from PM’s for his inaction and prolong silence over the barbaric crimes against women.
Modi used to vow the foreign diaspora with huge media events but now the situation is reversed.
