MLA suspended over staff’s involvement in molestation

Lucknow, June 25: Shahnawaz Rana, the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party MLA from Bijnore in Uttar Pradesh, has been suspended from the party following involvement of his securitymen and aides in molestating of two girls from Delhi on intervening night of June 21 and 22 last in Muzzafarnagar district.

An announcement to this effect was made on behalf of chief minister and BSP president Mayawati by UP principal secretary (home) Kunwar Fateh Bahadur Singh here this afternoon. There was, however, no word from the party in this regard.

Mr Singh said the Ms Mayawati had also directed the partymen not to invite the suspended legislator in any party function.

He said the further probe in this regard had been handed over to Special Task Force (STF) of UP police.
