Hyderabad, April 15: After a lull, differences appear to have again cropped up in the Telangana Telugu Desam Forum this time over leaders from the region campaigning in Kadapa and Pulivendula byelections.
Upset over the way some of the forum leaders and MLAs have been rushing to Kadapa despite his call against campaigning there, senior MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Thursday declared that he would avoid going there. The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) too had given such a call and branded those going there as Telangana traitors.
On the other hand, a number of forum leaders saw nothing wrong in taking up the party’s task in Kadapa. TDP MLA K. Dayakar Reddy who is leaving for Kadapa found fault with the TRS and wondered what the party would call leaders from Telangana surrounding Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy and who had participated in his hunger strikes earlier.
Dr. Janardhan Reddy said instead of proceeding to Kadapa, Telangana leaders need to focus on issues like Chapter 8 of Srikrishna Committee report which spoke of political and media management and now Government Order 177 that hurt the people and employees of the region. He wondered what happened to the ‘bus yatra’ that the forum had planned to undertake in the region. “I do not understand why leaders from Telangana should be deputed to Kadapa when we have 52 MLAs in the Andhra-Rayalaseema region?” he asked.
