MLA alleges 10K Cr land allotment scam, seeks CBI probe

Hyderabad, August 11: Senior Congress MLA DL Ravindra Reddy on Tuesday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation into the alleged irregularities in the allotment of industrial lands at Nanakramguda in Hi-tech city and said that the allotments were part of a Rs 10,000 crore scam.

Talking to media person at the CLP, Mr Ravindra Reddy alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) had allotted lands worth crores or rupees to some influential persons, even though it had not gained any benefits from the allotments.

The MLA alleged that the APIIC, which has become a ‘pocket organisation’ of some individuals, was not in a position to pay even salaries to its employees now.

He said that 530 acres of lands belonging to the APIIC was meant for industrial development but it was sanctioned to some influential persons in violation of the existing rules and regulations. The MLA said that these influential persons have constructed houses and star hotels on the allotted lands.

Mr Ravindra Reddy alleged that the then government, in 2002 had allotted 530 acres of land at Nanakramguda to ‘MR Properties’ with 51 per cent shareholding to the company and 49 per cent to APIIC.

However, in 2005 the government had revised the deal allotting 76 per cent land to ‘MR Properties’ and 24 per cent to APIIC, he alleged.

The MLA added that the APIIC transferred its entire shareholdings to the Dubai-based MRMGF, the parent company of MR Properties violating the rules and regulations.

Mr Ravindra Reddy said he would write a letter to High Command seeking the details of those who were beneficiaries since 2004.

Later Mr Ravindra Reddy, along with Congress senior leader JC Diwakar Reddy and Kantheti Satyanarayana met Chief Minister K Rosaiah and submitted a memorandum seeking a probe into the entire issue.
