Stating that ‘KCR Kit’ scheme was part of creating a healthy society, Health Minister C Laxma Reddy said it was not proper for the Opposition parties to criticise the good scheme.
Replying to short discussion on ‘KCR Kits’ scheme held on Friday in the Assembly, the Minister reminded that the media praised the scheme as ‘KCR Kit….Super Hit’ and said there was a great vision behind the implementation of KCR Kit scheme. Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakathiya, Harithaharam and KCR Kit schemes were designed only for the sake of peoples’ health. The peoples’ health would improve with the schemes being implemented by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
The Minister pointed out that after introduction of “KCR Kit scheme” on June 2, the number of child deliveries greatly increased in government hospitals. He said some 92,000 KCR Kits were distributed out of 94,000 child deliveries. He also said cash was being given to the beneficiary in four phases under KCR Kit scheme. He also made it clear that there were no irregularities in implementing the scheme and the amount was deposited in the accounts of the beneficiaries directly through online.
The Minister said that they will identify the pregnant women easily through KCR Kit scheme and giving necessary medicine to the beneficiary after conducting tests. The government set up ICUs in every district and area hospitals, he said and brought IMR from 39 to 28 and MMR to 70. He congratulated the doctors for making KCR Kits scheme a big success. The doctors in government hospitals were working hard, he praised and said that they were increasing the number of beds in the hospitals.
He said there were proposals to start new hospitals in Medchal and Asifabad districts. The government has changed the work nature of government hospitals and the government was eradicating the problem of staff in government hospitals. He made it clear that the TRS government will fill the vacant 4000 posts in Vaidya Vidhana Parishath soon. He found fault with the Opposition leaders, particularly Congress senior MLA Dr J Geetha Reddy for criticising the KCR Kit Scheme.
Earlier, initiating the short discussion, TRS MLA Konda Surekha said the KCR Kit scheme was a good one which was filling lights in the lives of the poor. She said the KCR government was increasing the values among the people with prestigious schemes. KCR Kits scheme was attracting the people in a big way. The Chief Minister has given top priority to health sector in the State. She said that KCR introduced the scheme keeping the hardships being faced by pregnant women in view. The Chief Minister has become a maternal uncle and own brother and a grandfather with KCR Kit scheme, she added.
The TRS government was playing the role of family member with KCR Kit scheme. KCR Kit was working as a scheme to free the poor from debts. The KCR government was introducing the schemes to imbibe confidence among the women. She also said the government introduced Arogya Laxmi Scheme to provide nutritious food to the pregnant and breast-feeding women.
Participating in the discussion, Congress member Dr Geetha Reddy, BJP member NVVS PRabhakar, TDP member Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and CPM member Sunnam Rajaiah alleged that the government was not caring the government hospitals like Osmania University and Gandhi Hospitals and it was not filling the vacant posts in the government hospitals. The government was also not providing infrastructure in the government hospitals and due to lack of infrastructure and lack of staff making the hospitals stinking. Deaths were occurring in many hospitals due to lack of doctors, they alleged and demanded that the government immediately do the needful for the hospitals.
MIM Member Mouzzam Khan said deaths of infants were reduced to a large extent after the introduction of KCR Kits scheme. He asked the State government to widen the scheme to benefit the poor. He also demanded that the government provide infrastructure in the hospitals while filling vacant posts of doctors.
Participating in the discussion, TRS MLA Rekha Naik praised the KCR Kits scheme saying that tribal people were being benefited much. (NSS)
