Ghaziabad, February 28:In separate hit-and-run road accidents, a B Tech student and a 65-year-old woman were killed here today, police said.
Both were mowed down by mini-trucks while crossing the road, they said.
B Tech student Shivani, aged 22, was killed when a mini-truck hit her near Hapur crossing, the police said adding she died instantly.
The truck driver fled the scene immediately leaving the vehicle behind.
In another accident, a vehicle hit 65-year-old Zarina and her daughter Shaina (12) while they were crossing the road near Kotwali.
Zarina, a resident of Islam Nagar, died on the spot while Shaina was admitted to a hospital where her condition was stated to be stable, police said.
The driver was absconding and efforts were on to nab him.
