Mumbai, April 22: Strengthening its commitment towards fostering Innovation and nurturing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in India, Microsoft today announced a grant of USD 100,000 to launch the Microsoft Bizspark India Start-Up challenge.
Launching The ‘Challenge’, Mr Kevin Turner, its Chief operating officer, said “Microsoft is a unique contest for start-ups in the field of product software to showcase their creativity and receive constructive feedback, inputs into the technology roadmap, mentorship and top investors.
The contest starts today and is open to start-ups having a product/IP and are leveraging Microsoft technologies. The winner gets USD 40,000 and the runners-up in categories of cloud computing, mobile applications and software products will get USD 10,000.
The contest will be assessed on three key parameters; innovation, market potential of the business and compelling story behind the idea, he said.
Over the years through the spark series, Microsoft has consistently impacted several aspriing entrepreneurs at crucial stages right from their education to the moment they step into their own ventures, Turner added.
