Hyderabad: A mentally handicapped youth in Shamsabad area made an attempt to commit suicide which police foiled.
According to the details of the incident, a youth by name Ahmed Shakaib (24) who is a citizen of Kabul, Afghanistan, presently residing at Begumpet is a student of BBA at Nizam College. He is mentally handicapped and he is under treatment.
On Saturday morning, he went to the second floor of Bawarchi Hotel located at Shamsabad Airport and made an attempt to jump from it with an intention to commit suicide. Some persons tried to stop him but they could not succeed. Meanwhile, a crowd of people gathered there. On receiving information, RGIA Police of Shamsabad reached the spot. When he was about to jump from the second floor, his hand was caught and thus, he was saved from committing suicide. He was given medicine in the hospital and later handed over to his relatives.
