Mekapati wants Kiran to quit post

Hyderabad, October 12: The YSR Congress leader and Nellore MP, Mr Mekpati Rajamohan Reddy, demanded that the CM, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, resign for his failure to address the problems of the farmers.

He was addressing party men, during a dharna held before the collectorate here on Tuesday, as part of a statewide stir to highlight the problems of the farmers. He said that farmers who have sown crops in about 10 lakh acres across the state, are under threat because of the power cuts. He said that the loss could be to the extent of Rs.5,200 crore to the farmers. He blamed the Union government for increasing the prices of petrol and diesel.

The MP rebuked Anam brothers for their comments against him, and his brother, Mr Mekpati Chandrasekhar Reddy. He claimed that YSR Congress will win at least 145 out of 175 seats in Seemandhra region, if elections are held at any time now.

Mr Chandrasekhar Reddy, YSRC district convenor and former ZP chairman, Mr Kakani Govardhan Reddy, former DCC president, Mr Yellasiri Gopal Reddy, former legislator, Mr Nelavala Subhramanyam, Mr Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, and Dr Anilkumar Yadav, were present.
