Hyderabad: Principal Secretary, Municipal Administration Arvind Kumar today held a meeting to take stock of the preparedness of various departments in connection with swachh survekshan 2019. GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, HMDA Commissioner Janardhan Reddy, Zonal Commissioner Hari chandana, Additional Commissioner Ravikiran, HRDCL Chief Engineer Mohan Naik, ED HMWSSB Satyanarayana and other senior officials attended the meeting.
Presiding over the meeting, Aravind Kumar instructed the officials to ensure display of hoardings on swachh survekshan at all prominent places. He asked the officials to arrange for twin bins around the necklace road, both sides of the metro rail, in all stretches of the HRDCL and also take up paintings and beautifications on flyovers and necklace road. He asked the officials to put up banners at all religious places as per the court directions in respect of banning of plastic in all religious places. Efforts should also be made to ensure reducing the usage of plastic at all markets and commercial establishments. He directed the GHMC commissioner to conduct a meeting with hospital managements at the earliest.
GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore informed that 22 lakh households have been provided twin bins for segregating wet and dry waste. He also said that 2500 swachh auto tippers are being retrofitted with GPS. Apart from setting up loo cafes and model bus stations, 36 she toilets have been installed in the city, he added. Swachh campaigns are continuously being held at schools, ward level and resident welfare associations, he said.
