Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao today expressed pleasure at the Karnataka Government for keeping its promise of releasing 0.5 tmc waters to Mahabubnagar district for drinking water purpose. The Karnataka irrigation officials informed to Telangana irrigation top official Khagender Rao about the release of 0.5 tmc waters from Narayanpur to Mahabubnagar district. The officials also confirmed that the waters reached Priyadarshini Jurala project on Monday morning and the rest of 0.5 tmc will reach the same on Wednesday. Bangalore officials reportedly said that the Congress lobby stalled the immediate release of 1 tmc waters as was sought by Harish Rao. It may be noted that Harish time and again discussed with his Karnataka counterpart MB Patil who agreed to release waters. (NSS)
