Maulana Showkat’s killers would be exposed soon, says Jamiat chief

Srinagar, May 29:Vowing to expose the killers of Maulana Showkat Ahmad Shah, Jamiat-e-Ahlihadees president, Ghulam Rasool Malik, Saturday said that Maulana became victim because of his rising popularity among people.

Talking to KNS, Malik said, “There won’t be any compromise in exposing Maulana’s killers and whole nation is behind us on this issue. Double faced killers have become a mystery in Kashmir. They will be exposed by the nation soon.”

“According to our information popularity graph of Maulana was rising due to which his rivals targeted him. Who were used to target Maulana and on whose behest it was done is to be seen. We promise to the nation that killers will be exposed before people whosoever they will be. All Party Committee formed to probe the killing will soon announce the probe before the nation,” Malik told KNS.

He revealed that 10-member committee formed to probe the killing was doing its job. “They are in process to contact UJC leadership in Muzaffarabad. We neither rejected police probe nor accept it,” he added.

Dismissing the rumors that Maulana became victim of internal politics in Jamiat, he said, “It is absolutely false and propaganda. There is no rift within the ranks of Jamiat as ours is a well organized group.”

He said that slain Maulana’s thinking was positive and constructive. “He (Maulana) always talked about welfare and unity of Ummah. I will take his mission of establishing Trans Muslim World University to its logical conclusion.”

“We will approach the court if we aren’t granted the permission to establish the university. I appeal the nation and media to support us on this issue. It (university) won’t be Jamiat’s but whole nation’s property,” he added.

Malik said that he had been serving the Jamait for the last 32-years. “Insha Allah with the support of people I’ll succeed to carry forward Maulana sahib’s mission,” he told KNS.

On Kashmir issue, Malik said, “Jamiat’s stand is that Kashmir needs tripartite dialogue in which Kashmiris should be the basic party.”

He said that Jamiat will hold a conference in July on social evils in Kashmir. “We are fighting against crime and other social evils. We will call a conference over this issue in July where it would be discussed,” he added.
