Man wears ladies underwear on plane “for fun”

The 65-year-old Phoenix man revealed that he does it to inject some fun to his regular business travels.

A man who was photographed in striking blue spandex underwear during his business trip said he did it “for fun”.

His outfit: A cropped colbat blue top with panties worn under a translucent white cardigen, black stockings, and high heels.

The 65-year-old man from Phoenix, US, revealed that he does it to inject some fun to his regular business travels, reported the San Francisco Chronicle.

The man, who is only known as Howard, made international news after a fellow passenger photographed him in his strikingly skimpy outfit when he boarded a flight on June 9 from Fort Lauderdale to Phoenix.

Jill Tarlow, 40, couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw Howard boarding the plane. He said: “No one would believe me if I didn’t take his picture.”

Despite complaints from passengers, including Tarlow, about him boarding the plane, the US Airways staff did not prevent him from getting on.

US Airways spokeswoman Valerie Wunder defended the move, saying that they did not have a dress code policy.

According to the spokeswoman, as long as passengers do not expose their private parts, they would be allowed to fly.

With no intent to make others uncomfortable, Howard told the newspaper: ‘‘This is just something I do for fun. I don’t mean any harm.’’

He added: “I try to respect other people’s opinions. As long as my dress is not indecent from a legal perspective, and so long as the airline does not object, I have the right to wear what I wear. And others have the right to wear what they want to wear.’’

This case stirred controversy after US Airways had another passenger arrested for not pulling up his baggy pants.

The man, DeShon Marman, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, battery of a police officer and obstruction after refusing to leave the plane on the captain’s orders, according to police. He also allegedly hurt an officer while being taken into custody.

US Airlines said that Marman was turned away because he did not abide by their staff’s request, not because of his dressing. But his attorney accused the airline of racial discrimination.
