Hyderabad: An unidentified man has been booked for allegedly threatening a nine-year-old girl as he “barged” into a girls’ hostel at Hayathnagar area here.
The man, scaled the wall of the hostel around midnight yesterday, went towards the girl and threatened her before fleeing away, a senior police officer said today.
He threatened the minor purportedly by saying that her mother should not depose as witness in a case and as claimed by the girl her mother may be a witness in a murder case, ACP (Vanasthalipuram Division) B Bhaskar said.
“We are verifying the veracity of the allegations which seem to be suspicious,” another police official said.
Meanwhile, the girl told reporters that the man threatened her of ‘dire consequences’ by saying her mother should not depose in the case.
Following the complaint, a case has been lodged under section 448 (house-tresspass) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, the officer said, adding, they are verifying the matter.
When asked on reports that the man misbehaved with the girl, the official denied such report.
Further investigations into the matter is on, police added.
