Hyderabad, August 16: A 31-year-old man, who arrived from Pune, yesterday tested positive for swine flu, taking the total number of confirmed cases to 93 in Andhra Pradesh and 89 in Hyderabad, the health official said.
He is under treatment and his condition is improving, AP Chest Hospital Superintendent Dr S V Prasad said.
“Presently the Hospital is treating five H1N1 confirmed positive cases and around 20 suspected cases,” Prasad said.
So far the hospital has treated 262 cases including 93 positive cases, Dr Prasad said.
Earlier, the sudden death of a 36-year-old businessman today in Chest Hospital triggered rumours of first swine flu death in the city, but a top health official denied it, saying the death was due to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
