Mumbai, July 01: Mallika Sherawat loves the US. The actress donned a dress on twitter that resembles an American flag.
The tweeter queen also tweets about the fun she is having in Hollywood. It seems like Sherawat feels right at home in H-town.
Now Mallika gets to showcase her love for the US onscreen. In her next flick Mallika’s character loves US President Barack Obama.
Sherawat plays Aretha Gupta, a beautiful, idealistic local Obama volunteer coordinator. She ends up falling.
In love with sexy African American conservative Kylie Frank, played by actor Brian White from Stomp the Yard.
It sounds like a good story. It will be neat to see how Sherawat does playing an all American girl.
When we asked why she accepted the role in this film Mallika said, “the script was excellent”. She also remarked that she “wanted to do.
An American-style romantic comedy that broke boundaries.” Mallika’s support for Obama is true off screen.
As well, Sherawat says of the president, “he’s a rock-star and although he was given a mess when he entered office he is doing well and the good he does may not be realized for a few years.” Mallika and her camp promoted this film at the Cannes Film festival where they hosted a party for it at the India pavilion.
The party capturing an east meets west vibe had Brit-Asian DJ Kayper on the decks. Sherawat also promoted her movie Hisss at Cannes when she did a performance involving snakes at the Majestic hotel. Mallika Sherawat continues to make waves in the states rubbing shoulders with the who’s who of Hollywood.
Most recently she ran into Salma Hayek at the Cannes film festival. The buzz is that Hayek wants to work with Sherawat on her next film because she was impressed with Mallika’s performance in Hisss. What are your thoughts on Mallika and her new role?
