Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandhrashekhar Rao on Tuesday said that the Mallanna Sagar would be completed by next year.
Interacting with farmers from Narsapur Assembly constituency who called on him at Pragathi Bhavan, the Chief Minister said by giving Rs 4,000 per acre per crop, he said that the State Government would enable the farmers to purchase seed, fertiliser and pesticides. “If this is continued for 5 to 6 years, if the time is congenial, farmers will be developed and benefitted,” he hoped.
The Chief hoped that water from the projects would flow into the lands making them fertile. Even if some vested interests try, the projects will not be stopped, he said.
KCR instructed Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao to take action on constructing a check dam on Dontivagu between Brahmanapally and Gundlapally and release funds for the same. “Rains are expected to come in a few days once the rains are stopped, I will come with the officials to your constituency. I know the problems of farmers in the villages. We are giving sheep to Yadavs and it will become Rs 20,000 Crore worth wealth in three years. Sheep will get national and international market. Fisheries will also become a profit making business and we are encouraging it. We are supplying rice on time to the people in villages and there is no starvation due to this. Wherever the poverty is, we have to fight it. If we want the State to develop and prosper as planned everyone should work unitedly and every village should become a unit. We will give adequate money to Narsapur and Gajwel,” the Chief Minister assured.
Minister Harish Rao and MLA Madan Reddy were also present in the meeting. (INN)
