M. P. Planning Commission approves proposed annual Plan of Rs. 18014 for 2010-11

Bhopal, March 05: (Pervez Bari) The proposed annual Plan for the year 2010-11 of Rs. 18014 was approved at a meeting of Madhya Pradesh Planning Commission here today. This includes funds received for Bundelkhand area and the additional funds received under the recommendations of 13th Finance Commission.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan presided over the meeting of State Planning Commission, which was held at the Mantralaya. Those present at the meeting included Finance Minister Raghavji, Commission’s members Ramhit Gupta, Savitri Singh, Preetamlal Dua & Sudhir Gupta, Chief Secretary Avani Vaish and Principal Secretaries and officers of various departments. Chief Minister Chouhan said that full utilisation of funds should be ensured for implementing seven priorities set for making Madhya Pradesh a golden state and Manthan recommendations.

State Planning Commission Secretary Devendra Singhai informed that the state’s share in the annual Plan of the state for the year 2010-11 will be 74 per cent and 24 per cent of the Union Government. Provisions have been ensured in the annual Plan for schemes pertaining to energy, infrastructure development, Centre-sponsored schemes, district schemes, Manthan recommendations and several other important schemes. A provision of 40 per cent has been made for district level schemes, 22.60 per cent funds have been allocated for Scheduled Tribes Sub-Plan and 15.50 per cent for Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan.

The quantum of state’s annual Plan for the year 2007-08 was Rs. 12011 crore while Rs. 14061 crore was allocated for the annual Plan for 2008-09. In 2009-10, Rs 16174 crore was approved for the annual Plan. The quantum of Rs 18014 for the year 2010-11 is Rs. 1840 crore more than the last year. The proposed annual Plan of the state will be sent to the Union Planning Commission for approval. (pervezbari@eth.net)
