SRINAGAR: Ex-military secretary Lt General Syed Ata Hasnain has been appointed Chancellor of Central University of Kashmir.
The notification issued by the Varsity’s Registrar M. Afzal Zargar confirmed the appointment of Lt Gen Hasnain as the chancellor for five-year term.
“The President of India in his capacity as the Visitor of the Central University of Kashmir is pleased to appoint Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain, former Military Secretary, Indian Army, as the chancellor of the university, for a term of five years,” it stated.
65-year-old Hasnain, an expert on defense and security is a retired Three-Star General of the Indian Army. He retired as military secretary in June 2013.
