Hyderabad, February 28: Hyderabadis can expect light showers, especially in the mornings, in the next few days. The Meteorological centre says that the phenomenon of unseasonal light showers, being experienced in the city for the past two days, may continue for the next few days causing a dip in the mercury levels.
Slight rainfall was reported from various places in Telangana and Rayalaseema today. At least 11.4 mm rainfall was reported from Hakimpet, Ranga Reddy district and 2.0 mm from Hyderabad.
The city remained cloudy for most part of the day on Saturday. A few places in the Telangana region experienced light showers such as Chevella 7.0 mm, Pargi 5.09 mm, Ananthapur and Kurnool in Rayalaseema 0.2 and 0.1 mm respectively.
S Venkateswara Rao, assistant meteorologist, told Express that a trough formed over Telangana and South Tamil Nadu coast and, under its influence, temporary rains or thundershowers might occur for a few days. “The day temperatures will go up gradually after a few days of light showers in the twin cities and other places in the state,” he added.
