New Delhi, December 10: The chaos and confusion over Pakistani players playing in the third edition of the IPL finally seems to be over. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has grated visas to four Pakistan players which will see them turning out for their respective franchise in the upcoming third season of the IPL.
Sohail Tanvir, Misbah-ul-Haq, Umar Gul and Kamran Akmal are the four players whose visas has been approved by the Indian government.
Earlier this week IPL chief Lalit Modi had said that the Pakistani players will not be seen in action in the IPL due to none clearance of their paperwork and was passed the deadline to submit their clearance.
PCB had accused the Indian government of delaying in clearing the papers saying they had already cleared the players to participate in the cash rich IPL.
However the Pakistani players will play only if the IPL authorities allowed them.
Pakistan players were seen in action in the inaugural IPL in 2008 however they could not participate in the second edition due to growing tensions between the two neighbouring countries with the Mumbai terror attack further hampering their chances.
The third edition of the IPL will be played in March-April at different venues across the country.
