‘Lesbian’ lover, 2 others arrested for woman’s murder

Hyderabad, August 28: City Police yesterday claimed to have resolved the mystery behind the murder of a woman two years ago with the arrest of her alleged lover and two pimps.

“The woman identified was Rachuri Jaya (35), was allegedly murdered by her lesbian companion Rama Chowdary along with prime accused S Nagabhushana Rao and M Shankar Rao in 2007,” Task Force DCP V B Kamalasan Reddy said.

Jaya and Rama, who were sex-workers, had a ‘lesbian’ relationship and stayed in a house at L B Nagar, while Nagabhushana and Shankar were working as pimps, he said.

Jaya objected to Rama’s intimacy with Nagabhushana and warned her against meeting him. Rama called Nagabhushana to settle the matter and she, along with Shankar, went to Jaya’s house.

When an altercation broke out, Shanker and Rama caught hold of Jaya and Nagabhushana allegedly strangulated her.
