New Delhi, November 10: An official says a landslide caused by torrential seasonal rains in a mountainous region in southern India has killed at least 39 people in the last two days.
The official said that the landslide demolished nearly 300 mud huts with tin roof in Ooty and Coonoor region of Tamil Nadu. The area is about 1120 miles (1,800 kilometers) south of New Delhi.
The state flood control official, said rescuers found 14 bodies in the rubble on Monday and 25 Tuesday.
