Hyderabad, March 24: The stalemate in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on land allotment issue persisted today with both treasury and opposition benches sticking to their stands.
For the seventh day today, opposition maintained that it wanted constitution of a Joint Legislature Committee to probe the land allotments since 2004 while government once again asserted that any demand would be considered only after a discussion on the issue in the House.
Proceedings of the Assembly were adjourned for 30 minutes this morning after leaders of all opposition parties expressed their views. TDP, which raised the demand for JLC, was not satisfied with Government’s reply.
TDP MLAs stormed the Speaker?s podium, forcing officiating Speaker Nadendla Manohar to adjourn proceedings.
Earlier, Manohar sought views of the House to break the deadlock that has seen the proceedings getting adjourned without transaction of any real business in the last seven days.
