Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death not natural: Siddharth Singh

Varanasi, December 15: Bharatiya Janata Party, Nagaland and Meghalaya units in charge, Siddharth Singh today said the death of former Prime Minister and his maternal grandfather Lal Bahadur Shastri was not natural.

He said his whole family believes that the late PM was poisoned to death. A lawyer naming Anuj Dhar had sought details into the death of Mr Shastri under the Right to Information Act, but the reply filed by Home Ministry was also not satisfactory, he added.

The unsatisfactory reply of the ministry hints a foul play into the issue.

”It is sad that we are not aware of the cause of Mr Shastri’s demise,” the BJP leader remarked.

The family is still interested to know the reason, which claimed the life of their beloved member and the dedicated politician.

The decision to identify Ram Nagar, the native village of Mr Shastri, as a national monument was still incomplete and a matter of concern, Mr Singh said.
