Guntur, August 13: Former minister and Telugu Desam Party senior leader Kodela Shiva Prasad on Friday demanded that the state government order a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the allegations of irregularities in the allotment of lands by Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation.
Talking to media persons on Friday, Mr Shiva Prasad slammed the state government for encouraging land encroachments in prime locations and demanded a white paper on the entire episode and also sought a list that the allottees to the APIIC land be made public.
He said that the TDP would launch a phased agitation across the state on the corruption and alleged land dealings during the Congress tenure until the government comes out with clean chit.
Mr Shiva Prasad urged the government to suspend all those officials named alleged of being involved in the corrupt dealings immediately and complete the probe in a free and fair manner.
The statement by the former minister assumes importance in the wake of senior Congress leaders DL Ravindra Reddy and JC Divakar Reddy demanding Chief Minister K Rosaiah orders an inquiry into the alleged irregularities worth to the tune of Rs 10,000 crore in allocation of land by the APIIC.
