Kobad Ghandy case: Police take contradictory stands

New Delhi, December 27: Police have taken contradictory stands in the case against top Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy before the Delhi High Court and a trial court regarding the completion of the probe.

While pleading for more time when Ghandy pleaded against the move for a narco-analysis test on him, police had informed the High Court that the probe against him for his alleged involvement in anti-national activities was complete.

A week later, they sought more time from a lower court for filing the charge sheet against Ghandy saying the probe could not be completed within mandatory 90 days time.

The prosecutor took the contradictory stand before the lower court while opposing the bail application of Ghandy who had sought his release on the statutory ground that police did not file the charge sheet within time.
