KKR swaps Heriques for DD’s Shah and Tiwary in IPL transfer window

New Delhi, January 05: Kolkata Knight Riders have swapped all-rounder Moises Henriques for Delhi Daredevils batsmen Owais Shah and Manoj Tiwary in the trade window made available by the Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council before the player auctions scheduled for January 19.

Henriques was signed up by the Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the second edition of the IPL for 300,000 dollars. The 22-year old Australian, who was a part of the New South Wales Blues team that won the Champions League Twenty20 competition, scored 38 runs batting lower down the order and picked up two wickets in four matches for the Knight Riders, the IPL said on their website.

The Australian has been swapped with England’s Shah, who was signed up by the Delhi Daredevils for 250,000 dollars and young Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary for the March 12 to April 25 Twenty20 extravaganza. Shah played four matches in Delhi Daredevils colours, scoring a total of 74 runs at a strike rate of 105.71. He was a part of the Delhi Daredevils team in the second edition of the tournament in South Africa, but did not get a game. However, the stylish English batsman did turn out for the Delhi franchise in theChampions League Twenty20 competition in India last year.

Tiwary, who was signed up by the Delhi Daredevils for 675,000 dollars before the inaugural auction of the IPL, meanwhile returns home. The 24-year old right-handed batsman is rated very highly as a batsman and is seen as an international cricketer in the making. He also captained his home team Bengal in the Ranji Trophy this season.
