Hyderabad, September 23: Telangana Congress Steering Committee convener and Rajya Sahba MP K Kesava Rao on Friday stated that the creation of Telangana state was possible only with the participation of all people in the general strike.
Talking to media persons at his residence, Kesava Rao called upon all parties and leaders to keep aside their party flags and agenda until the formation of separate Telangana state. Admitting the differences between the leaders over the formation of Telangana agitation, he said that the leaders would collectively organised agitations to achieve the separate state.
The Congress MP said that the leaders would overcome differences and shoulder the responsibility of achieving Telangana state. Until the separate Telangana state is formed, he said the leaders would not take rest.
Keshava Rao also said that no one could question the commitment of Telangana Congress leaders towards the separate state. He reminded that Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar gave a letter to Union Finance Minister and Core committee member Pranab Mukherjee that he would commit suicide for the Telangana state. He said that Congress leaders are ready to sacrifice anything for the cause of statehood. (INN)
