Kiran will be CM till 2014: Minister

Hyderabad, April 28: Andhra Pradesh Minister for Medical and Health D L Ravindra Reddy today said Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy will continue to be the Chief Minister till 2014.

He was reacting to a statement reportedly made by him saying Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy would be removed soon and he would take over as the Chief Minister.

Addressing reporters at the Congress Legislature Office here, the Minister said he was not enamoured of the Chief Minister’s post.

Even his present position was given to him by the party high command.

Launching a tirade against YSR Congress party president and rival candidate Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr Ravindra Reddy said Jagan was dreaming of becoming the Chief Minister after allegedly amassing huge wealth.

He sarcastically remarked Jagan cannot tolerate even if his own mother and YSR Congress candidate for Pulivendula Assembly constituency Y S Vijaya Lakshmi became the Chief Minister.

The Minister threatened to file a Rs 10 crore defamation suit against Jagan for tarnishing his image using Sakshi daily and TV channel, owned by the YSR Congress chief, ahead of the May 8 bypoll to ruin his chances at the hustings.

Mr Ravindra Reddy, a Congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, allegedly made the remarks against Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy when Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi activists obstructed his campaign at the Mydukur Assembly constituency, represented by him, deploring the Congress government’s alleged apathy towards their demand for micro-classification of Scheduled Castes.
