Dubbing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as ‘leader of gang of robbers’, the CPI has demanded that the former dismiss the six tainted ministers if he had guts or resign himself and go for election.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Tuesday, CPI deputy floor leader K Sambasiva Rao said that the Chief Minister was trying to shield the six Ministers with regard to Supreme Court notices. Stating that already by-elections were going on for seven constituencies and the Speaker had accepted the resignations of 17 MLAs who were supporting YSR Congress Party Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Sambasiva Rao demanded that the Chief Minister resign and go for fresh elections if he felt uneasy to dismiss the six tainted ministers. He said that the State government was in self-defense.
Stating that Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was not elected by the people, but selected by the Congress high command, Sambasiva Rao said that the former, who did not know the spirit of the Constitution, has no right to rule the State. He also urged the President Pratibha Patil to intervene and impose President Rule in the State if Kiran Kumar Reddy failed to take up corrective measures. (NSS)
