Hyderabad: Jamat-e-Islami of Telangana region has fixed a target of collecting Rs. 5 crore to be given to the victims of Kerala floods. So far, it has collected Re. 1 crore from the Masajid on last Friday.
It may be mentioned that Jamat-e-Islami has been attending to relief work in Kerala in a phased manner. The organization lamented the attitude of the Central Govt. for allocating meager funds and also for refusing to accept foreign donations. The decision not to accept foreign funds is against human values.
The organization also condemned the propaganda of various other organizations for not helping the flood victims of Kerala on the pretext that they consume beef. It said that such feelings are inappropriate.
It may be mentioned that a team of doctors under the banner “DARE” is actively helping the flood victims in Kerala. The organization appealed to the philanthropists to send in their donations to its head office located at Chattabazar, Hyderabad.
