Kendriya Vidyalaya prescribes weight limit for school bags

New Delhi, January 14: What should be the weight of the school bag of tiny-tots who often stoop down more under the load of books than under the pressure of study?

Here is a formula that the Kendriya Vidyalya Sangthan (KVS) has come up with.

In a circular to all its principals, the KVS has laid down weight norms for the bags to be carried by children to school.

As per the norms, the bag for children in Class-I and II should not be more than two kg, while it should be less than 3 kg for students of Class-III and IV.

The prescribed weight is less than four kg for children in Class V-VIII, while the upper limit is six kg for students in Class VIII-XI.
