During his three-day national capital tour, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought his intervention to sort out the pending high court bifurcation issue and reportedly attributed the delay to his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu and also for making deliberate attempts to block the ongoing irrigation projects.

According to informed sources, the Chief Minister, during his half-an-hour talk with Narendra Modi, urged the Prime Minister to take immediate decision on Andhra Pradesh High Court split row, funding for irrigation projects and national status to a major project. KCR said to have appealed to Modi to suggest AP Government to avoid creating hurdles to Telangana irrigation projects and violating norms with regard to allocations of irrigation waters besides sticking to implementation of Brijesh Kumar Tribunal recommendations until Centre takes a call on water allocations and use by the two Telugu States.

Apparently, he reliably touched upon release of more funds for the State and also as per 14th Finance Commission raising the FRBM limit to 3.5 per cent from 3 per cent to get loans about Rs 3000 cr in addition to actual allocations of about Rs 12,000 crore. The Chief Minister is understood to have appealed to the Modi Government to extend better financial help for the welfare and development.

KCR also met Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharathi and urged them for more financial assistance and sticking to the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal and other water allocations respectively. Stating that as Telangana Government was favoring friendly relations with its neighboring States, including Karnataka, Maharashtra and also AP, the Chief Minister asked them to prevent the Chandrabbu Government from creating hurdles to the Telangana State projects and using more waters than the allocations made.
