Hyderabad, November 13: TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao’s reported comments in support of Congress over Telangana came under criticism from various quarters.
Asked to comment on Chandrasekhar Rao’s reported remarks in Delhi that Congress has already agreed for separate Telangana, senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu wondered what the fight for Telangana was all about.
“If Congress has already given Telangana, then whatever has happened after December 9 last year (when Home Minister P Chidambaram had announced that steps will be taken for formation of Telangana), what is it for?,” he asked.
The TRS president reportedly said in Delhi yesterday that Congress had announced formation of separate Telangana on December 9 last year, but the process was derailed after TDP changed its stance.
Congress should be strengthened to finally realise the statehood goal, he had reportedly said.
