Hyderabad, July 28: Stating that the Telangana issue has reached its zenith, TRS president, Mr K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday asked all T-MPs, MLAs and MLCs to retain their unprecedented unity and resign again to sustain the pressure on the Central government to carve out Telangana.
He also blasted Congress MP, Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, for his “arrogant comments” on Telangana and warned the Chief Minister and Mr N Chandrababu Naidu of serious consequences if the government went ahead with SIs examination without scrapping Clause 14 F. Welcoming a group of Telugu Desam councillors from Medak into the party fold, the TRS chief said that after 56 years, leaders of all political parties had come together on one platform to fight for Telangana and had quit their posts for the T-State, which would soon be a reality.
“The Speaker rejected the resignations in a most undemocratic manner. We should retain this unity to achieve Telangana and resign again to force the Centre to take a decision. Some people made fun of me when I suggested resignations, but we have seen the result. The Centre has started the consultation process,” he remarked. Spewing fire at Congress MP, Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, he said Mr Rao’s comments on whether Krishna district too should be made a separate state if MPs and MLAs resigned, exposed his arrogance and lack of knowledge. “Telangana was a separate state before it was merged much against the wishes of people. How can Krishna district be made a state? It was never a state.”
