The Telangana Government launched the construction of double bedroom houses for poor at various places across the State on the occasion of Vijayadashami Day on Thursday.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao laid the foundation stone for the 2BHK house at Suryapet in Nalgonda district. Minister Etala Rajender and Jagadish Reddy, MLC Karne Prabhakar and Rajeshwar Reddy were among those present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR said 400 houses under MLA quota and 500 houses under Chief Minister’s quota would be constructed and completed on priority basis. He said the new 2BHK houses would serve at least two generations. He informed that foundation stone has been laid for construction of 60,000 houses across Telangana on Thursday.
The Chief Minister also promised that drinking water would be supplied to all households in Suryapet constituency from Paleru Reservoir in the next one year. He also assured to turn Suryapet into a district by March next year. He said a new ring road would also be constructed in Suryapet. He promised to visit Suryapet after 15 days to conduct a padayatra.
