KCR to hike salaries of municipal workers

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has decided to hike the salaries of GHMC sanitary workers. The CM had earlier hiked the salaries of the sanitary workers who were working hard to keep the city clean and he promised then that their salaries will be hiked again. Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao, City Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy also requested the CM to hike the salaries of sanitation workers.

 

Against this backdrop, the CM held a review meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here on Tuesday. The CM has decided to increase the salary of sanitary workers by Rs 1500 per month. At the time of Telangana State’s formation, the salary was only Rs 8,500 and the CM had increased it to Rs 12,500. Now, Rs 1500 hike is given to make the salary Rs 14000 per month. There were requests for increase in salaries of sanitation workers in other municipalities too, for this the CM responded positively.

The CM said in Hyderabad the GHMC was paying salaries and he wanted Principal Secretary Navin Mittal to find out the financial position of the municipalities, their income and expenditure. The CM said that the decision on the hike can be taken after getting the required information.
