On the eve of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad birthday, the State Government is celebrating November 11 as Minority Welfare Day. On the occasion, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao conveyed his greetings to the Minority community of Telangana State.
The Chief Minister said Maulana Abul Kalam Azad strove for his entire life to spread the spirit of secularism to every nook and corner of the country. The CM exhorted that every citizen should enjoy the fruits of equality, liberty and independence which are enshrined in the Constitution. KCR recalled that his government was implementing a number of programs to transform the lives of the minority community. He urged the community to make use of the welfare programs for their economic development. He also said his government has started Minority Gurukuls to the students of Minority community, which is a unique program in the country. The Minorities are given better recognition, respect and encouragement in the State. (NSS)
