Hyderabad, May04: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti president, Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao, has decided to convene the state committee of the party after May 15 to chalk out the next phase of the agitation programme to achieve Telangana state.
Mr Rao, who was recently re-elected president of the party in Mahbubnagar unopposed, retained his old team in the state committee as well as the politburo.
He also decided to continue the present district party unit chiefs, conveners, and chiefs of frontal organisations.
However, he included newly joined ex-MP, Mr Jitender Reddy in the party’s key decision making body, the politburo, increasing its strength to 34.
“We will not allow protagonists of Samaikhya Andhra to sleep. We will intensify the agitation to achieve Telangana. The meeting chaired by Mr Chandrasekhar Rao has decided ask all the district units to be prepared for the next action plan and to strengthen the party at all levels,” said Mr Etela Rajender, the TRS legislature party leader.
Mr Rajender said the state committee will finalise the future course of the agitation in consultation with the Telangana Joint Action Committee.
“The village and mandal committees have been constituted in 50 Assembly constituencies. In some places it was delayed due to people joining from other parties,” he disclosed.
He parried questions on the fate of suspended MLAs but asserted that they will remain suspended from posts.
