Karnal to have Kalpna Chawla medical college

Chandigarh, January 27: In an honour for first Indian female astronaut late Kalpna Chawla, a medical college in her memory will be soon be established in the state, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced today.

Speaking at the 60th Republic Day celebrations in Jhajjar Hooda said Kalpna Chawla Medical College will soon be setup at Karnal and the state government has initiated scheme to promote health infrastructure at a cost of Rs 1,500 crore.

The Chief Minister unfurled the tri-colour and took salute at an impressive parade presented by the contingents of Haryana Armed Police, NCC cadets, scouts and guide and home guards, and official spokesman said here.

Hooda said sanction has been accorded for Faridabad metro and Gurgaon metro rail would have a trial run on January 29.
