Telangana Jagruti president K Kavitha was taken into custody by the Karimnagar police on Sunday while she was proceeding to a village to unveil the statue of tribal leadeer Kommaram Bheem.
Kavitha was arrested near Chittakani in Kataram mandal. She was scheduled to go Yemenpalli near Manthan of Karimnagar district. Police said that the statue was installed without permission and therefore, its unveiling was disallowed by the police.
Kavitha was later released by the police. (INN)
