Hyderabad: Service to people has been regarded as the best worship in Islam. Due to social service, humanity gets promoted. There was a time when Muslim community was identified with social service offered to weaker sections, poor, destitute and orphans. These days Muslim community is lagging behind in this area.
Still there are some persons who have devoted their lives to the cause of social service despite all the luxuries at their disposal. Among such personalities, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Iftekhar Husain, Secretary, Faiz-e-Aam Trust, Dr. Shaukat Ali Mirza, MD of Helping Hand, Dr. Askar Yasmeen Siddiqui and her husband, Mr. Zaker Siddiqui could be named.
With the efforts of these philanthropists, Kapda Bank was established. Siasat Urdu Daily extended its cooperation to Faiz-e-Aam Trust and Helping Hand Foundation. Dr. Askar Yasmeen Siddiqui played a key role in the establishment of Kapada Bank.
A function was held at Chandrayan Gutta yesterday to distribute clothes to one hundred needy persons of Chandrayan Gutta and Jahangirabad.
Dr. Askar Yasmeen Siddiqui and her husband, Mr. Zaker Siddiqui (Canada), Mr. Ajaz Husain (USA) and Mr. Syed Haider Ali participated as Guests of Honour. Dr. Askar Yasmeen Siddiqui and others distributed the clothes.
Mr. Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, Managing Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily, Mr. Iftekhar Husain, Secretary, Faiz-e-Aam Trust, Dr. Shaukat Ali Mirza, MD of Helping Hand attended the function.
Dr. Askar Yasmeen Siddiqui applauded the efforts of Siasat Urdu Daily, Faiz-e-Aam Trust and Helping Hand Foundation and said that the passion for community service of these organization is worth emulating. She prayed to Allah (SWT) for fortifying these efforts.
