Governor ESL Narasimhan, who made a visit to the prestigious Kaleshwaram project along with his wife Vimala Narasimhan, today said he would call the Chief Minister as “Kaleshwaram Chandrasekhar Rao”. The Governor hoped the project on completion in six months will boost the State’s economy, industries and agriculture sectors.
Speaking to the media later along with Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and officials, the Governor expressed satisfaction at the project. The project will be completed in six months to cater to the irrigation and drinking water needs of the people in north Telangana districts, he said. “Seeing the pace of the works, I would like to call our Chief Minister as “Kaleshwaram Chandrasekhar Rao”, he said.
Kaleshwaram is a great and first of its kind in the country, he said and appreciated the officials for the team work. Package six will get Godavari waters, he said and appreciated those working for the project to reach the target. Narasimhan said he used to know about the project only through the maps so far. “Now by field visit, I am surprised to see the way of the works being taken up”, he said.
He also extended greetings to KCR and Harish Rao for their commitment and continuous monitoring of the project. The Governor hoped the works will be completed by June-July and will help flourish industries and agriculture sector in the State. The project will also prove handy for speedy financial development in the State and also provide drinking waters in addition to irrigation, he added. (NSS)
