Hyderabad, June 28: The Jubilee Hills police is tightening the noose around Dr S. Chaitanya Reddy, the accused in the murder of his wife, Dr Kiran Reddy. Kiran was the niece of the Union minister, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy.
Kiran’s relatives, who were at the bachelor’s party of her brother, Mr Sunil Reddy, held at NGrill, said in statements to the police that Chaitanya Reddy had tried to attack the manager of the pub.
The Jubilee Hills inspector of police, Mr S. Narsinga Rao, said, “Three of the relatives confirmed that there was an altercation between Chaitanya Reddy and the pub staff. We have also recorded the statement of the pub manager, Mr Srinivas.”
Police had earlier said that Chaitanya had killed Kiran as he was upset with her. He was angered by the fact that she had found fault with him for quarrelling with the pub staff in an inebriated condition. The cops said that Chaitanya was involved in an argument with the hotel manager, Mr Srinivas, and had abused the staff. Kiran, along with others, had intervened and pacified him.
