New Delhi, May 09: A job placement cell to help widows of airmen has been launced by the wives association of Indian Air Force (IAF).
The Air Force Wives Welfare Association (AFWWA) launched the portal www.afwwaservices.co.in last week that will act as an interface between a prospective employer and a willing job-seeker among the wives and widows of air men.
“Initially, the idea (of starting the cell) came to me as I was thinking about the widows of the IAF personnel. Because, most of their letters often say that they need some job as they cannot sustain with the meagre pension they get,” Air Chief Marshal P V Naik’s wife Madhubaala Naik told PTI here today.
“We gave a thought to their plea and we came out with this job placement service,” Madhubaala, who is also the AFWWA president, said.
