Chennai, March 10: For lakhs of youngsters from rural areas in Tamil Nadu who are taking their first step into the job market, the all-expenses-paid job fairs have come as a godsend.
“The job fairs have so far generated about one lakh jobs for youth from rural areas. There are plans to hold more such events across Tamil Nadu”, Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi, the moving force behind it, told.
Students participating in these job fairs are segregated into three groups.While postgraduates and graduates are put in group A, ITI and diploma holders are listed in group B and those who have passed eighth to 12th standard in group C.
The “Kalaignar 86 Job fairs” conceived and launched recently by DMK and fully funded by the party, have so far been held at Kariyapatti, Kanyakumari, Nilgiris, Virudhunagar, Vellore, Cuddalore and Tiruchirapalli.
